Asmara, 24 May 2013 – The residents of Asmara city celebrated Independence Day on May 24 with scenes of fireworks display and 21-gun salvo, as well as cultural dances along the main street of the capital.

The participating residents expressed deep satisfaction with the vivacious mood of nationals, and said that it attests to the prevailing harmony among them.

From the participants, Ms. Yirgalem Habte from Germany, Mr. Nezar Mahjub, a Sudanese national, and Mr. Marcos Embaye lauded the manner nationals cherish the momentous occasion. They further expressed satisfaction with the cheerful mood witnessed in the celebration.
