Eritrean community members in the Dutch city of Zwolle expressed readiness to mount staunch resistance against anti-Eritrea agendas. They made the pledge at a seminar they conducted last weekend, during which extensive briefings were given regarding the objective situation in the Homeland vis-à-vis political, diplomatic and socio-economic issues, as well as the role of nationals in the nation-building process.

Asmara, 5 June 2013 – Eritrean community members in the Dutch city of Zwolle expressed readiness to mount staunch resistance against anti-Eritrea agendas. They made the pledge at a seminar they conducted last weekend, during which extensive briefings were given regarding the objective situation in the Homeland vis-à-vis political, diplomatic and socio-economic issues, as well as the role of nationals in the nation-building process.

Mr. Solomon Mehari, head of consular affairs in Holland, stated that the nation has reached a stage where it could initiate various investments focusing on ensuring social justice and economic freedom, and that popular participation is a major prerequisite to this end. He further called on the community members to become beneficiaries of the new investment opportunities in the Homeland.

Moreover, Dr. Temelso Tesfamichael expressed satisfaction with the development accomplishments in the country, and said that these attest to the dynamism of the Eritrean people and their leadership as regards attaining national development despite external conspiracies.

In the same vein, Mr. Gebregziabher Fisehatsion, elucidated that the smear campaign against the nation on the part of various foreign media outlets is part of the anti-Eritrea psychological war, and called on citizens in general and youths in particular to enhance awareness regarding this plot.

The seminar participants lauded the Government’s commitment as regards laying the necessary groundwork for citizens to become primary beneficiaries of the nation’s investment prospects. They further asserted that they would step up participation in State affairs.
