Asmara, 6 June 2013 – Eritrean community members in Sewakin city, Sudan, reiterated readiness to enhance participation in national development endeavors. They made the pledge during a celebration event they organized in connection with the 22nd Independence Day anniversary.
Among the community members, Mr. Humed Mohammed-Ali, Mr. Saleh Osman and Ms. Lucia Tesfahunei stated that the community is exerting efforts to ensure all-round participation in the nation-building process through enhancing organizational capacity.
Mr. Andebirhan Woldemichael, chairman of the community, noted that the Sudanese city used to serve as a sanctuary to freedom fighters during the armed struggle for independence, and pointed out that the celebration of the momentous Day gives rise to overwhelming impressions.
Mr. Ahmed Mohammed, a Sudanese national, congratulated the Eritrean people and their leadership, and explained that the current status of the nation is an outcome of their steadfastness.
