Asmara, 8 June 2013 – A Tigrinya book entitled “Marcien Towa’s African Philosophy: Two Texts,” translated and introduced by Professor Tsen’ay Serequeberhan, was inaugurated yesterday at Ambasoira Hotel.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Tsen’ay pointed out that the book explores African postcolonial present in the context of identity as it pertains to the cultural, political and economic issues linked to the continent’s politico-economic dependence on the West. He went on to explain that the writer engages the question of African philosophy by concretely revealing how it is organically linked to Africa’s efforts of reclaim in connection with its economic, political, historical and existential actualities, vis-à-vis the reality of neocolonialism.

Moreover, the writer said that Africans should demonstrate deep knowledge of their cultures, popularize them and strive to bequeath them to the young generation.
