Winners of media-based general knowledge contest in connection with Independence Day receive awards

Nationals who won general knowledge contests organized by Hadas Ertra and Eritriya Al-Haditha newspapers in connection with Independence Day today received awards.

Asmara, 13 June 2013 – Nationals who won general knowledge contests organized by Hadas Ertra and Eritriya Al-Haditha newspapers in connection with Independence Day today received awards.

The nationals numbering 10 were selected on the basis of a draw out of those who scored full mark.

Mr. Samson Haile, Editor of Hadas Ertra daily, said that the contest was conducted with a view to adding color to the celebrations, besides its input in raising the awareness of readers regarding national and international issues. He further indicated that there are plans to hold such contests three times a year on the occasion of the launching of the national newspapers, the New Year and Independence Day.

The prizes were awarded to by Mr. Mekuria Woldu, director general of External Service, and Mr. Russom Fisehaye, head of Finance and Administration, both in the Ministry of Information.
