Number of health institutions in Anseba region witnesses over 5-fold increase in the past 22 years: Report
The Health Ministry’s branch in Anseba region indicated that the number of health institutions has witnessed over 5-fold increase over the past 22 years.
Keren, 15 June 2013 – The Health Ministry’s branch in Anseba region indicated that the number of health institutions has witnessed over 5-fold increase over the past 22 years.
Dr. Kesetebirhan Solomon, head of the branch office, pointed out that the Government has been working in a prioritized manner as regards attaining gratifying outcome in furthering medical outreach in remote areas, and that immunization service has grown by 85% in line with such venture.
Accordingly, the number of health institutions which stood at 6 before 22 years, has presently grown to 39, besides the further investment made with a view to upgrading service quality on the basis of ensuring additional medical supplies and developing human resource capacity. Moreover, the construction of community hospital in Geleb sub-zone has gained momentum, while there exist plans to upgrade the health institutions in Sel’a and Melebso.
Among the inhabitants, Mr. Bekit Gubtan and Riayu Yacob expressed satisfaction with the health service being rendered in the region.
