Wives of martyrs in Akria Administrative area, Asmara, are reportedly witnessing improvement of livelihood on the basis of weaving skill they acquired in line with training courses organized by the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare.

Asmara, 18 June 2013 – Wives of martyrs in Akria Administrative area, Asmara, are reportedly witnessing improvement of livelihood on the basis of weaving skill they acquired in line with training courses organized by the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare.

Ms. Jim’a Mohammed-Nur, head of the community center in the area, indicated that a number of women have become beneficiaries of programs launched by the Ministry with a view to raising the income level of families of fallen heroes. Accordingly, the beneficiaries were provided with weaving materials, and thus demonstrated good mastery of the skill.

One of the wives of martyrs, Ms. Medina Abdulnur, explained that she could adequately support her family financially following her attending of the training. Likewise, Ms. Kidanu Mihretab and Yordanos Berhane, lauded the Ministry’s commitment to this end.

Ms. Jim’a pointed out that such care attests to the Government’s commitment towards honoring the trust of fallen heroes, and called on the beneficiaries of the benefit scheme to raise their income using the opportunity as a springboard.
