Southern Red Sea region: Ministry organizes training targeting proper use of medicines

The Health Ministry’s branch in the Southern Red Sea region has organized training course for 65 staff members targeting proper use of medicines and drug side effects with a view to raising the general awareness of end-users in this regard.

Assab, 25 June 2013 – The Health Ministry’s branch in the Southern Red Sea region has organized training course for 65 staff members targeting proper use of medicines and drug side effects with a view to raising the general awareness of end-users in this regard.

Dr. Woldai Abraham, medical director of Assab Hospital, noted that patients should utilize medicines according to the prescription of physicians only.

Among the trainees, Mr. Hamedo Ali and Mr. Amanuel Yohanes pointed out that the training is remarkably helpful in their career as health personnel, and asserted that they would strive to make an impact as regards raising community awareness to this end.

In closing remarks, Mr. Asefaw Gebremichael, head of the branch office, indicated that the government has been working on priority basis pertaining to human resource development, and that the Ministry’s commitment towards promoting human resource capacity in remote areas attests to this.
