Temperate fruit seedlings planted for experiment in Nacfa sub-zone in good condition

The Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Nacfa sub-zone indicated that temperate fruit seedlings such as peach, olive and apple which were planted for experiment in the locality are in good condition.

Nacfa, 25 June 2013 – The Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Nacfa sub-zone indicated that temperate fruit seedlings such as peach, olive and apple which were planted for experiment in the locality are in good condition.

Mr. Jabera Saleh, head of the branch office, explained that the progress of the seedlings numbering 5,000 was observed first and then distributed to a number of farmers. He further disclosed that the seedlings have flourished well in the Administrative areas of Laba, Endilel and Baqla.

Moreover, Mr. Tesfalem Zewde, Agronomy expert in the sub-zone, said that the seedlings planted within enclosures and irrigation farms have equally witnessed remarkable progress. The seedlings are being distributed to farmers for free in line with the Ministry’s and the regional Administration of the Northern Red Sea’s joint endeavor of introducing tropical fruits, he added.

More than 5,000 seedlings of similar fruits would be distributed in the future, while hundreds of thousands of indigenous tree seedlings planted in different times in the sub-zone have flourished, according to reports.
