The Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) has rehabilitated 120 members on the basis of water pumps.
Asmara, 26 June 2013 – The Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) has rehabilitated 120 members on the basis of water pumps.
Speaking at the handing ceremony which was conducted today, Mr. Gebrebirhan Eyasu, chairman of the Association, pointed out that it has so far rehabilitated a number of members based on researched alternatives, and that the current scheme is aimed at extending members who already own land resource for agriculture on credit basis. Moreover, he called on the beneficiaries to conduct the necessary research before launching irrigation farms and demonstrate persistence as well as sound material management.
Accordingly, the Association has extended a total of 489 water pumps to members so far.
Among the beneficiaries, Ms. Askalu Tewoldebirhan, Mr. Tsegai Habtegabir and Mr. Hamd Idirs Ali expressed readiness to strive to improve their livelihood using the opportunity as a stepping stone. They further stated that such support attests to the government’s commitment towards raising the production capacity of the Disabled.
