Assab, 27 June 2013 – Students in the port city of Assab are engaged in an undertaking involving soil and water conservation as well as afforestation with a view to backing government endeavors in this regard during their vacation time.
Mr. Berhane Gebregziabher from the Education Ministry’s branch in the Southern Red Sea region pointed out that such exposure is vital in nurturing sense of hard work among juvenile generation.
He further disclosed that the extracurricular venture involving 250 manpower a day has gained momentum, and called on pertinent bodies to extend a helping hand to the process.
Among students, Zahra Ragie, Yohanes Tesfamariam, Asia Saleh and Awet Gebregziabher expressed satisfaction with taking part in the undertaking, and said that they would work hard for the realization of the cherished goal. They also stated that active participation and collaboration is being witnessed on the part of students.
