Ginda, 2 July 2013 – The inhabitants of Mai-Habar Administrative area said that they are engaged in popular undertaking with a view to enriching water resources in the area. They further indicated that the venture has been conducted annually in collaboration with EDF members, and expressed conviction that it would make remarkable impact in the development of the area.
Among the inhabitants, Ms. Siti Adem and Mr. Husein Mahmoud disclosed that the construction of an underground micro-dam is about to be finalized, and that active participation is being demonstrated on the part of the community and the Army members.
One of the EDF members, Yemane Woldai asserted that they are working hard along with the inhabitants so as to foster agricultural output in the area through ensuring accomplishments in soil and water conservation.
Mr. Ahmed Zeile, Administrator of Mai-Habar area, lauded the initiative of the inhabitants and the EDF members, and stated that such community-based undertakings would give impetus to national endeavors towards ensuring food security.
Two underground micro-dams have already been constructed in the locality besides the new one, according to reports.
