The Administration of Anseba region conducted an assessment meeting this week in Elabered urban center focusing on its activities during the first semi-annual period.
Keren, 6 July 2013 – The Administration of Anseba region conducted an assessment meeting this week in Elabered urban center focusing on its activities during the first semi-annual period.
According to reports presented at the meeting, the construction of a number of teachers’ residential houses and school fences is at the stage of finalization, while further focus has been made towards health care. Moreover, more than 500,000 tree seedlings planted hand-in-hand with popular soil and water conservation ventures in 11 sub-zones have flourished, and the necessary efforts are being made pertaining to follow-up to this end.
The participants of the meeting noted that trees of new fruit varieties planted recently are in good condition, besides the endeavors being exerted with a view to raising dairy, meat and poultry production.
Speaking at the meeting, the Administrator of the region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, pointed out that remarkable experience has been acquired as regards construction of dams, water reservoirs, roads as well as soil and conservation infrastructures in line with the ongoing joint venture on the part of communities and members of the People’s Army. He also called for stepped-up efforts pertaining to prevention of afforestation, introduction of the smokeless stove Adhanet and environmental hygiene, besides better discipline and reception manner in office environment.
Furthermore, the regional Administrator urged farmers and Administrations to work jointly in connection with rain-fed farming, and elaborated the future undertakings of the Administration.
