Youths in Southern region express readiness to back up national development programs

Youths in the Southern region have expressed readiness to back up national development programs and keep intact national values. They made the pledge at a meeting in Mendefera city in which a number of youth representatives from all sub-zones took part.

Mendefera, 6 July 2013 – Youths in the Southern region have expressed readiness to back up national development programs and keep intact national values. They made the pledge at a meeting in Mendefera city in which a number of youth representatives from all sub-zones took part.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ibrahim Hassan, head of the NUEYS branch in the region, pointed out that the role of youths is vital in popularizing cultural and national values, and lauded youths in the region for demonstrating active participation in this regard.

Mr. Woldai Gebre, Chairman of the Southern Region Assembly, on his part called on students to demonstrate exemplary position and pose positive peer pressure.

Among the participants, Sara Samuel and Mohammed Ferej lauded the government’s commitment to youth issues, and said that they would enhance role in the nation-building process.
