Massawa Port Authority organizes training for 114 staff members

Massawa Port Authority organized a 6-month practical and theoretical training course focusing on heavy machinery operating, motor maintenance, Material Management, Accounting and Secretarial Science for 114 veteran and new staff members.

Massawa, 10 July 2013 – Massawa Port Authority organized a 6-month practical and theoretical training course focusing on heavy machinery operating, motor maintenance, Material Management, Accounting and Secretarial Science for 114 veteran and new staff members.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr. Kidane Zere, head of training in the Authority, indicated that it has been organizing various trainings on the basis of internal capacity, and that the current training was organized through a curriculum by the Education Ministry. He further disclosed that the trainees are expected to work on the basis of the knowledge and skills they have acquired.

Mr. Dawit Mengisteab, General Manager of Massawa Port Authority, pointed out that the training could be effective thanks to the enthusiasm and integrated work witnessed in the process, and called on the beneficiaries  to focus on further career development.

A representative of the trainees voiced his colleagues’ readiness to back up national development programs.

Among the trainees, Liwam Abraha, Nesriya Mohammed and Awet Teklai expressed satisfaction with the training, and said that they would serve the people with dedication.
