Inhabitants of Shelab Administrative area call for reinforcement of health-related community sensitization activities
Inhabitants of Shelab Administrative area, Agordat sub-zone, indicated that health-related community sensitization activities in rural areas have made remarkable impact as regards raising popular awareness on health issues, and called for stepped-up efforts to this end.
Agordat, 14 July 2013 – Inhabitants of Shelab Administrative area, Agordat sub-zone, indicated that health-related community sensitization activities in rural areas have made remarkable impact as regards raising popular awareness on health issues, and called for stepped-up efforts to this end.
Among the inhabitants, Mr. Saleh Osman Shelal and Ms. Fatina Abdalla explained that they are in a position to promote community and environmental wellbeing following the sensitization activities conducted in this regard. They further called on pertinent bodies to enhance endeavors for still more gratifying outcome.
Mr. Hussein Mohammed-Ali from the Administration of the area and Ms. Fatina Saleh stated on their part that the role of community health representatives has become remarkable in such venture, and expressed satisfaction with becoming beneficiaries of soak-pit latrines.
Furthermore, Mr. Negash Gebremichael, head of environmental hygiene and malaria control in Agordat sub-zone, pointed out that the community-led undertakings being conducted in various villages have given rise to improvement of community health. He also called on the inhabitants to practice judicious utilization of latrines and sustain initiative as regards conducting environmental health campaigns.
