Teachers and stakeholders in the Northern Red Sea region have expressed readiness to extend a helping hand towards promoting student competence and the level of participation to this end.

Massawa, 16 July 2013 – Teachers and stakeholders in the Northern Red Sea region have expressed readiness to extend a helping hand towards promoting student competence and the level of participation to this end.

They made the pledge at a meeting during which a number of reports were presented focusing on the teaching-learning process, supervision, trend of school registrations, adult education, development of mobile schools targeting nomadic communities, school infrastructures and student summer work program.

Following the conducting of discussions and sharing views in this regard, the participants of the meeting noted the need of enhancing integrated efforts on the part of government bodies and communities in this connection.

Mr. Reshid Mohammed Osman, Head of the Education Ministry’s branch in the region, pointed out that the number of new schools has shown remarkable growth in line with the government’s endeavors towards promoting equitability of educational service. He also disclosed that 10 more mobile schools would be launched in different sub-zones with a view to raising participation of children in education, and called for increased parental role thereof.
