Inhabitants of Baqla Administrative area become beneficiaries of basic social service facilities on the basis of community living style

The inhabitants of Baqla Administrative area, Nacfa sub-zone, said that they are in a position to become beneficiaries of basic social service facilities on the basis of popularizing community-based style of living.

 

Nacfa, 18 July 2013 – The inhabitants of Baqla Administrative area, Nacfa sub-zone, said that they are in a position to become beneficiaries of basic social service facilities on the basis of popularizing community-based style of living.

The inhabitants explained that they used to lead nomadic style of living, thus giving rise to ineffective utilization of such facilities in the area, like school and health center.

Mr. Saleh Idris, Administrator of the area, disclosed that the community members have begun leading settled mode of living following the distribution of land plots and their adherence to the practice of farming. He further indicated that ponds put in place through collaboration between the government and the local inhabitants have secured ample water supply, and that small-scale merchandizing activities are nowin place there.

Among the inhabitants, Mr. Ahmed Mohammed and Mr. Mohammed-Ali Barkai expressed appreciation for the government’s commitment regarding rural development, and asserted that the community is practicing judicious utilization of social service facilities.

Mr. Hamd Mohammed Seid, nurse in the health station in the area, stated that it is rendering commendable service, and that the scope of the maternity section has been upgraded in line with the growing number of people receiving health services.
