Afabet sub-zone witnessing commendable impact regarding education

The Education Ministry’s branch in Afabet sub-zone indicated that endeavors exerted towards promoting equitability of educational opportunity have made commendable impact, besides the growing number of females attending schools in the locality.

Afabet, 19 July 2013 – The Education Ministry’s branch in Afabet sub-zone indicated that endeavors exerted towards promoting equitability of educational opportunity have made commendable impact, besides the growing number of females attending schools in the locality.

Mr. Daniel Solomon, head of the branch office, disclosed that there exist 12 schools in the 14 Administrative areas, with some involving junior education, while a new school is being built in Gebgeb and the construction of another one is expected shortly in Gulbub. The number of schools and trend of school registration in the area has generally shown an increase by 35% and 69% respectively, he added.

Accordingly, more accomplishments have been registered pertaining to evening class and adult education, subsequently giving rise to 2,250 adult beneficiaries of elementary education. Besides, 740 children in their late ages have attended schools, and community participation in scholastic affairs has become effective.

Mr. Daniel called for enhanced parental role in endeavors towards furthering educational outreach.
