Dige, 25 July 2013 – The inhabitants of Jimiel village have become beneficiaries of social service facilities on the basis of promoting community-based living style.
Among the inhabitants, Mr. Saleh Mustafa and Mr. Ali Hussein Yacob explained that the community used to face deprivation of basic social services as they used to lead nomadic style of living, and that their livelihood has by and large been improved following their resort to the new living style and the putting in place of the necessary facilities in the area.
Mr. Hamd Mohammed Abubaker, Administrator of Jimiel area, noted the merits of the community’s new location of settlement which is along Agordat-Sawa route, and disclosed that the social services in the area include education up to Junior level and potable water supply.
Likewise, Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim, educational supervisor in the sub-zone, pointed out that the feasible number of students in the locality could be met following the community’s adherence to community-based style of living.
Reports indicate that Jimiel village is currently inhibited by 1,760 individuals who own residential land plots distributed on the basis of a master plan.
