The residents of Mai-Noah area in the Central region’s village of Adi-Segudo are constructing a 2 km-long road through integrating labor and financial resources.

Asmara, 25 July 2013 – The residents of Mai-Noah area in the Central region’s village of Adi-Segudo are constructing a 2 km-long road through integrating labor and financial resources.

The residents pointed out that lack of suitable road has been causing negative impact in viability of transport, and disclosed that the ongoing venture involves an expenditure of around 0.5 million Nakfa, besides the deployed labor force. They also lauded the active role of Segen Construction Company’s staff members in the implementation of the undertaking.

Ms. Hadas Bairu, Administrator of Adi-Segudo village, expressed the community’s satisfaction with the social services being rendered in the locality, and said that the construction of the road would give rise to betterment of transport.

Among the residents, Ms. Kerya Mohammed-Birhan, Mr. Kifle Ogbu, Mr. Habtom Gebremichael and Mr. Samson Yemane indicated that active community participation is being witnessed in the process, and called on fellow residents to take good care of the bridge which has been built along the route.

Amanuel Tesfai, an engineer, expressed appreciation for the popular initiative and the enthusiasm demonstrated thereof.
