Remarkable accomplishments being registered in Dekemhare on the basis of the SWP

Reports indicated that remarkable accomplishments are being registered as regards soil and water conservation in Dekemhare on the basis of the SWP involving more than 500 participants in the city.

Dekemhare, 02 August 2013 – Reports indicated that remarkable accomplishments are being registered as regards soil and water conservation in Dekemhare on the basis of the SWP involving more than 500 participants in the city.

Accordingly, the participants are expected to prepare 1,000 holes for the plantation of tree seedlings within a new High School, in addition to the terraces and water catchment walls they have constructed in the environs of the city.

One of the coordinators, Mr. Atakilti Zerizgi, explained that the working atmosphere is vital in nurturing the norm of work among the young generation, and expressed conviction that the Program would make visible impact in environmental conservation.

Moreover, Mr. Mulugeta Gebre, head of the Program in the area, disclosed that 50% of the planned tasks have already been accomplished.

The participants of the venture expressed satisfaction with taking part in the venture.
