Funeral service of Veteran Fighter Woldenkiel conducted with patriotic fervor

The funeral service of the late Veteran Fighter Woldenkiel Gebremariam, Minister of Local Government, was conducted today at Asmara Martyrs Cemetery in the presence of President Isaias Afwerki, Ministers, senior government and PFDJ officials, Army commanders, diplomats, religious leaders, siblings and numerous nationals with patriotic fervor.

Asmara, 06 July 2013 – The funeral service of the late Veteran Fighter Woldenkiel Gebremariam, Minister of Local Government, was conducted today at Asmara Martyrs Cemetery in the presence of President Isaias Afwerki, Ministers, senior government and PFDJ officials, Army commanders, diplomats, religious leaders, siblings and numerous nationals with patriotic fervor.

In the course of the funeral service headed by the National Marching Band and Guard of Honor, the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Woldemichael Abraha, presented a summary of the late Woldenkiel’s biography highlighting his persistent spirit of nationalism and his bold dedication to the people as well as the nation. He further pointed out that the dear departed Minister demonstrated a pleasant personality and charisma as a veteran fighter as well as political figure, and said that his passing away is a great loss to the nation.

Moreover, Mr. Al-Amin Mohmmed-Seid, Secretary of the PFDJ, laid a flower cornet in the name of President Isaias Afwerki, besides Gen. Sibhat Ephrem, Minister of Defense, Ambassador Mahmoud Ali Hurui, General Managing Director of the Ministry of Local Government, Mr. Abraham Isaias and Mr. Robel Woldenkiel.
