Central region: SWP concludes registering remarkable accomplishment

Reports indicated that the SWP has concluded registering remarkable accomplishments as regards soil and water conservation, promotion of road traffic safety and afforestation, among others in the Central region.

Asmara, 07 August 2013 – Reports indicated that the SWP has concluded registering remarkable accomplishments as regards soil and water conservation, promotion of road traffic safety and afforestation, among others in the Central region.

Among the coordinators, Mr. Mekonen Fikadu and Ms. Selamawit Semere expressed appreciation for the participants’ commitment to the Program’s vision and the hard work witnessed thereof.

Out of the participants, Yodit Habtom, Yonas Kidane, Yohana Bokretsion and Yafet Temesgen called on the inhabitants of the region to make follow-up of the works fulfilled in general and the planted tree seedlings in particular.

Mr. Zemede Tekle, forestry expert in the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the Central region, disclosed that more than 13,000 holes have been dug in Asha-Golgol area for the plantation of tree seedlings on the basis of the Program, while around 26 Km-long terraces have been constructed.
