The Education Ministry’s branch in the Northern Red Sea region indicated that endeavors exerted towards promoting educational outreach are witnessing remarkable impact.

Massawa, 08 August 2013 – The Education Ministry’s branch in the Northern Red Sea region indicated that endeavors exerted towards promoting educational outreach are witnessing remarkable impact.

Accordingly, a number of schools have been built in the region and the putting in place of a number of others is underway, while around 40 mobile schools are rendering commendable service in remote areas targeting communities leading nomadic style of living. Moreover, a total of 1,323 children from such communities, 538 of whom are females, have attended schools belatedly over the past 5 years, as the branch office furthers efforts focusing on children of age between 9 and 14.

Reports also indicated that 95% of the beneficiaries of Adult Education Program in the region comprise females.

The number of schools ranging from Kindergarten to High School and adult education centers in the region collectively stands at 421, and the growth rate in connection with the number of schools and students has reached 38% and 21% respectively, besides the visible increase witnessed as regards female participation in school.
