Afabet witnesses more than four-fold growth: Reports

Afabet, 17 August 2013 – The sub-zonal branch office of the Ministry of Land, Water and Environment in Afabet pointed out that the semi-urban center has shown growth by more than four-folds following the preparation of its master plan and distribution of land plots, giving rise to an equivalent increase in the number of inhabitants. 

Afabet, 17 August 2013 – The sub-zonal branch office of the Ministry of Land, Water and Environment in Afabet pointed out that the semi-urban center has shown growth by more than four-folds following the preparation of its master plan and distribution of land plots, giving rise to an equivalent increase in the number of inhabitants.

Mr. Mehari Kifle, head of the branch office, stated that the semi-urban center was situated in a total area of 3,000 hectares, the breadth of which currently stands at more than 13,000 hectares, and that social service facilities have occupied an equivalent area of land. He further disclosed that more than 2,150 residents have become beneficiaries of residential land plots, and that more residential houses are being constructed on the basis of the semi-urban center’s plan which also eased the installation of electricity and telephone lines.

Moreover, Mr. Mehari said that more land plots have been ready for distribution, and called on the residents to refrain from unwarranted sale and purchase of land.
