Dekemhare, 19 August 2013 – The participants of the ongoing festival in Dekemhare said that it is adequately popularizing national values in connection with armed struggle for independence on the basis of a camp to this end.
The camp involves pictorial and material exhibitions depicting the heroic feats of freedom fighters, besides the organization of a visit to the trenches in Afelba area during which in-depth briefings were given regarding the final offensive to liberate Dekemhare city.
The participants pointed out that the Grounds of the event itself comprise plains where severe fighting was conducted between the freedom combatants and the Ethiopian forces of occupation.
Mr. Habtegiorgis Tesfamariam from the event’s coordinating committee indicated that the visit to the historical site was planned with major priority, and that people who are in charge of the briefings thereof are eyewitnesses of the heroic feats.
