Central region: Members of Association of Weaving Craftswomen laud national endeavors of promoting health services

The members of the Association of Weaving Craftswomen in the Central region have lauded national endeavors of promoting health services nationwide, especially the one pertinent to promoting women’s wellbeing. They made the remark in connection with their visit to the fistula victims at the separate hospital in Mendefera city.

Asmara, 23 August 2013 – The members of the Association of Weaving Craftswomen in the Central region have lauded national endeavors of promoting health services nationwide, especially the one pertinent to promoting women’s wellbeing. They made the remark in connection with their visit to the fistula victims at the separate hospital in Mendefera city.

Ms. Tsega Kiflom, Chairperson of the Association, explained that they took the initiative of visiting the fistula victims with a view to encouraging them and uplifting their spirit.

Dr. Habte Hailemelekot, a specialist of fistula in the Regional Referral Hospital in Mendefera, called on the citizenry to extend a helping hand in doing away with the causes of the disease instigating societal stigma.

Moreover, the patients expressed satisfaction with the way they are being treated vis-à-vis the commitment of the medical personnel. They also voiced appreciation for the initiative of the Association members.

The Association of Weaving Craftswomen in the Central region which was established in 2011 has around 400 members.
