The Health Ministry’s branch in Gash-Barka region has called for enhanced integrated endeavors regarding malaria control.
Haikota, 26 August 2013 – The Health Ministry’s branch in Gash-Barka region has called for enhanced integrated endeavors regarding malaria control. It made the call at a Malaria Week conducted at regional level in Haikota semi-urban center, during which it was stated that still more gratifying accomplishment has been registered at national level.
Mr. Gebru Zere, head of the health center in the semi-urban center, indicated that it has played remarkable role regarding to malaria control, giving rise to a visible decline in the trend of morbidity and mortality resulting from the disease. He also called on the inhabitants to sustain proper application of bed nets, he added.
In the same vein, Dr. Leul Banteyirga, head of the branch office, urged government bodies and communities to step up joint efforts in this regard.
Moreover, Mr. Hamd Yusuf, Administrator of Haikota sub-zone, pointed out that the achievements registered so far should encourage more hard work, and called on communities to adhere to consultation with health personnel in this connection.
