The Health Ministry’s branch in Anseba region indicated that child immunization activities, which have been conducted on the basis of stationed and mobile services, have witnessed commendable impact both in urban and rural settings.

Keren, 29 August 2013 – The Health Ministry’s branch in Anseba region indicated that child immunization activities, which have been conducted on the basis of stationed and mobile services, have witnessed commendable impact both in urban and rural settings.

Mr. Yohanes Goshu from the branch office pointed out that community awareness as regards immunization is on the rise, thus giving rise to such remarkable accomplishment. He further stated that the immunization campaigns conducted so far targeted grave diseases such as tetanus, TB, pneumonia, measles, polio and others. Mr. Yohanes also stated that the role of the inhabitants as well as Area administrations was vital in the process and that more than 80% outreach was attained.

Accordingly, diseases affecting children could be controlled as a result of the venture towards which parents are expected to extend a helping hand.
