Eritrean community members in Bologna, Italy, London, UK, and Oakland, USA, commemorated the 52nd year of the launching of the armed struggle for independence on September 1 with popular resolve.
Asmara, 03 September 2013 – Eritrean community members in Bologna, Italy, London, UK, and Oakland, USA, commemorated the 52nd year of the launching of the armed struggle for independence on September 1 with popular resolve.
Speaking at the observance in Bologna city, the Eritrean Ambassador to Italy, Mr. Zemede Tekle, gave in-depth briefings focusing on the objective situation in the Homeland vis-à-vis the nation-building process, and lauded the active role of youths in organizing the event.
Also speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rusom Gebregiorgis, Consul in Milan, pointed out that the Eritrean community members in Bologna have extended a total of 8,000 Euros fulfilling 75% of their promise to support a total of 22 families of fallen heroes. Moreover, the participants said that they would enhance participation in the nation-building process and voiced staunch resistance against external conspiracies during the observance which witnessed cultural performances.
In the same vein, the Eritrean Ambassador to the UK and Ireland, Mr. Tesfamichael Gerahtu, stated that the prevalence of popular awareness, strong organization and steadfastness has become
a major prerequisite for the virtue of the nation-building process as in the armed struggle.
The Eritrean community members in Oakland noted the vitality of keeping intact such values and spirit of resolve nurtured during the armed struggle in building a prosperous nation.
