Asmara, 05 September 2013 – An assessment committee disclosed that the staging of traditional dances by Yata Cultural Troupe from the Central region in Festival 2013 was vital in depicting cultural diversity. It was also stated that such performances attest to the youth’s commitment towards popularization of the values thereof.
The Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, lauded the role of the cultural troupe in the event, and expressed conviction that it would play enhanced role to this end in the future. He further commended all those who made outstanding contribution in organizing the event.
Mr. Asmerom Tsegabirhan, chairman of the region’s holidays coordinating committee, and Mr. Efrem Kahsai, a member of PFDJ Cultural Affairs, indicated that preliminary research work was undertaken prior to the staging of the cultural activities, thus giving rise to a commendable outcome as attested by the feedback of the Festival participants.
Ms. Halima Abdelkadir and Teamrat Zaid, dancers, explained that integration of research work with traditional performances was the secret behind the troupe’s vibrant position, which would encourage further accomplishment in the future.
