Women in Goluj striving to improve livelihood on the basis of credit opportunities: Report

Women in Goluj semi-urban center said that they are striving to improve their livelihood on the basis of credit opportunities ensured by the NUEW.

Goluj, 06 September 2013 – Women in Goluj semi-urban center said that they are striving to improve their livelihood on the basis of credit opportunities ensured by the NUEW. They further pointed out that they are engaged in various income-generating activities, and thus acquiring diverse experience in this connection.

Among the members of the Union, Ms. Tsega Woldeyohanes and Ms. Aziza Mohammed-Nur who are involved in merchandizing and animal fattening ventures said that they are in a position to raise their income.

Ms. Senait Tekle from the NUEW branch in Goluj sub-zone disclosed that a credit margin making a total of 600,000 Nakfa was paid to women beneficiaries in the locality who have been demonstrating timely payback and effective utilization.

Accordingly, the current number of credit beneficiaries stands at 300, and the branch office has been playing the necessary role pertaining to consultation.
