Farmers in Hamelmalo sub-zone to step up efforts in rain-fed farming

Farmers in Hamelmalo sub-zone said that they would step up efforts in rain-fed farming in pursuit of bountiful harvest.

Hamelmalo, 09 September 2013 – Farmers in Hamelmalo sub-zone said that they would step up efforts in rain-fed farming in pursuit of bountiful harvest. They further indicated that they finalized the process of land preparation before the onset of the rainy season and subsequently tilled their farmlands timely, thus giving rise to the plantations which are in good condition.

Among the farmers, Mr. Osman Mohammed Jimi’e, Mr. Mohammed Adem Mohammed and Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammed-Jimi’e pointed out that they are anticipating higher harvest.

Mr. Yacob Idris, Administrator of the sub-zone, disclosed that farming spots which were damaged by heavy rainfall could again be cultivated in collaboration with the regional branch of the Public Technique Center.
