Keren, 10 September 2013 – The residents of 02-Adminitrative area in Keren city are engaged in extensive environmental hygiene campaign that also involves landscaping of spots along dirt roads which have been causing problem in transportation.
Mr. Bekhit Gubtan, Administrator of the area, disclosed that the community-led venture has involved deployment of machinery, and that cactus plants have been removed from a total of 20 hectares.
Among the city residents, Mr. Reayu Yacob, Ms. Emuna Aman and Mr. Ibrahim Nur-hussein expressed satisfaction with participating in the undertaking which would have positive impact in promoting the community’s wellbeing, and said that they would enhance role in national development endeavors.
Mr. Bekhit lauded the initiative taken by the residents of the area, and called on them to sustain it in the future.
