Central region: Education Ministry’s branch organizes training with a view to reinforcing capacity regarding assessment of student performance

The Education Ministry’s branch in the Central region has organized a training course for 70 trainers with a view to reinforcing capacity regarding assessment of student performance.

Asmara, 16 September 2013 – The Education Ministry’s branch in the Central region has organized a training course for 70 trainers with a view to reinforcing capacity regarding assessment of student performance.

Mr. Belai Habtegabir, head of planning and training in the branch office, indicated that a special research venture has been undertaken in connection with the preparation for the training, besides the application of the methodology in 6 schools, and thus confirming its soundness. He further disclosed that the trainees comprise highly experienced teachers, supervisors and school directors.

Mr. Dawit Abraham, a trainer from the headquarter office, said that a total of 300 staff members nationwide have already become beneficiaries of the training, including the current batch. He also called on the trainees to share the knowledge they have acquired with their co-workers, in addition to enhancing participation towards the realization of the cherished goal, He further indicated that the training would continue.

Ms. Halima Mohammed, head of the branch office, noted the significance of the training, and equally called on the trainees to play vital role as trainers.

Among the trainees, Mr. Biniam Beyin and Ms. Saba Tewolde explained that the training was timely and significant in the teaching-learning process.
