The Administration of the health center in Foro has called on the residents of the semi-urban center to enhance popular participation as regards prevention of communicable diseases.

Foro, 19 September 2013 – The Administration of the health center in Foro has called on the residents of the semi-urban center to enhance popular participation as regards prevention of communicable diseases. It made the call at a health seminar, during which it was stated that further efforts need to be exerted pertaining to environmental sanitation so as to prevent occurrences of malaria, in addition to ensuring consistency of use of impregnated mosquito nets.

Mr. Mengisteab Tewolde, head of the health center, indicated that gratifying accomplishments have been registered in the areas as regards promoting community wellbeing, while popular awareness on health issues is at the same time witnessing remarkable growth.

Mr. Mahmoud Abdalla, head of economic development in Foro sub-zone, said that the inhabitants should extend a helping hand towards the realization of the cherished goal as the venture is to their benefit.

The participants of the meeting noted that the norm of maintaining environmental sanitation is an attribute of a civilized society, and asserted that they would step up participation in this regard.
