The participants of the 4th Mining Conference here in the capital pointed out that they could have deeper understanding regarding Eritrea’s mining potential and the ongoing national ventures to this end.

Asmara, 02 October 2013 – The participants of the 4th Mining Conference here in the capital pointed out that they could have deeper understanding regarding Eritrea’s mining potential and the ongoing national ventures to this end.

Various representatives of mining companies expressed satisfaction with the manner the meeting was organized vis-à-vis the deep discussion conducted on the agenda items. They further voiced conviction that the nation ensures conducive environment for mining activities as it holds admirable geological profile, availability of related resources and prevalence of peace.

Mr. Alasdair Smith, Managing Director of Sahar Mineral Company, and Mr. Victor He, Representative of Sattva Capital, explained that Eritrea’s mining accomplishment can be cited as an exemplary one along the Arab-Nubian Shield, and that it attests to the Government’s stepped-up endeavors towards developing the sector.

Moreover, Mr. Dimitry Shtreys, General Manager of Ketina Mining Company, and Mr. Onward Tubela from TOTAL Company said that the meeting provided a forum for exchange of experience and valuable discussion as regards the mutual challenges and strong sides. They also made note of the vigorous competition in the mining industry, and stated that the points raised in the conference would give impetus to Eritrea’s efforts thereof.
