Festival of Eritrea in Riyadh and its environs concludes with patriotic zeal

Festival of Eritreans in Riyadh and its environs, Saudi Arabia, which was opened by Ms. Askalu Menkerios, the Minister of Tourism, was conducted with patriotic zeal under the theme “ERITREA – Shield of Resilience and Nobility of Work” from the  3rd to the  5th of October.

Asmara, 6th September 2013, Festival of Eritreans in Riyadh and its environs, Saudi Arabia, which was opened by Ms. Askalu Menkerios, the Minister of Tourism, was conducted with patriotic zeal under the theme “ERITREA – Shield of Resilience and Nobility of Work” from the  3rd to the  5th of October.

In a speech he delivered at the opening of the festival in which a number of Eritreans and invited guests took part, Ambassador of Eritrea to Saudi Arabia Mr. Mohammed Omar Mohammed pointed out that our annual national festivals are occasions in which we renew our pledge to work with redoubled effort towards national development drive and lauded the due contribution of Eritrean communities in Riyadh and its environs in tackling external conspiracies and for their commitment towards  enhancing national development drive.

The Ambassador further gave extensive briefings as regards investment opportunities in the homeland in general and about the ongoing sale of shares by the EriTel and National Insurance Corporation as well as the housing projects that are being launched.  

Meanwhile reports from Riyadh indicate that the Minister of Tourism held a seminar to the participants of the festival as regards the objective situation in the homeland and regional issues, as well as national development programs that have been underway prioritizing outreach areas and about the progress so far achieved.

An exhibition staged by students of International school of Eritreans in Riyadh and by the branch office of NUEW in Riyadh as well as cultural show by a cultural group from the homeland added color to the event.
