Administration of Afabet sub-zone call for stepped-up community participation in development activities
The Administration of Afabet sub-zone has called for stepped-up community participation in implementation of development programs.
Afabet, 12 October 2013 – The Administration of Afabet sub-zone has called for stepped-up community participation in implementation of development programs. It made the call at a meeting with the inhabitants of Afabet semi-urban center, during which it was stated that social service facilities in the locality have made positive impact as regards improving the livelihood of the inhabitants.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ahmed Mohammed-Nor, Administrator of the sub-zone, indicated that a new dirt road liking Afabet and Gebgeb is being constructed, while various activities would be carried out targeting the prevailing development challenges in the area. He further pointed out that increased soil and water conservation activities are necessary to raise agricultural output, and for application of water diversion techniques through the collaboration between farmers and the Administration.
Accordingly, new educational facilities are being put in place, in addition to the ongoing endeavors being exerted focusing on further outreach in connection with adult education.
