Goluj, 12 October 2013 – The Administration of the health center in Goluj semi-urban centre pointed out that it has made significant impact as pertaining to the prevention of communicable diseases on the basis of community sensitization ventures and other awareness-raising programs.
Mr. Arefaine Menan, head of malaria prevention at the health center, said that a gratifying accomplishments has been registered in connection with to control of malaria, and that 60 community health representatives have been trained in this connection. He also indicated that community sensitization involving seminars by religious leaders and elders have made positive impact in promoting community wellbeing.
Accordingly, the health center has been rendering outreach services focusing on child immunization, spray of anti-mosquito chemicals, distribution of impregnated mosquito nets and the like, while sustained community participation remains a prerequisite for the eradication of malaria.
