The Health Ministry’s branch in Hagaz sub-zone indicated that enhanced endeavors are being exerted towards promoting community wellbeing on the basis of putting in place basic social service facilities.
Hagaz, 18 October 2013 – The Health Ministry’s branch in Hagaz sub-zone indicated that enhanced endeavors are being exerted towards promoting community wellbeing on the basis of putting in place basic social service facilities.
Mr. Gebremeskel Gebrehiwet, head of the branch office, pointed out that the accomplishments being registered pertain to mother and child care, environmental hygiene, malaria control, antenatal and postnatal care, as well as doing away with harmful customary practices. He further disclosed that the number of mothers attending antenatal service and those who deliver in health institutions has shown significant growth vis-à-vis child immunization outreach.
Accordingly, new laboratory service has been introduced in the health station in Gilass, while 3 waiting rooms have been built in connection with maternity services in the health station in Hashishai. Moreover, the demand for potable water supply at the health station in Ad-Fakai has been met.
Ms. Nebiat Mengistu, Associate Nurse in a community hospital in Hagaz semi-urban center, stated that commendable achievement has been made as regards promoting mother and child care. She also said that the organizing of various seminars as well as trainings have made remarkable input in equipping medical staff with the necessary knowledge and skills.
The inhabitants lauded the government’s commitment regarding health.
