Asmara, 21 October 2013 – The inhabitants of Embaderho village, Central region, have expressed satisfaction with grass harvest from a surrounding wood enclosure where they made enhanced afforestation as well as soil and water conservation campaigns.
Among the inhabitants, Mr. Zeregabir Mehari and Mr. Yemane Tekeste disclosed that the planted tree seedlings flourished well giving rise to prevention of soil erosion, and that the livestock feed supply it has ensured has become an important advantage.
Mr. Hagos Sibhatu, Village administrator, and Mr. Tewoldebirhan Tekie explained that the community could take the initiative following the conducting of sensitization activities to this end, and that an accomplishment of this type has encouraged further environmental efforts.
Moreover, Mr. Habtemariam Yemane, Administrator of Embaderho area, equally expressed conviction that the achievement made is an outcome of joint endeavors, and stated that the inhabitants of the village would reserve the grass as hay for consumption in winter.
