Regional Administrator calls on inhabitants of Mai-Mine sub-zone to step up participation in development programs

The Administrator of the Southern region, Mr. Efrem Gebrekristos, has called on the inhabitants of Mai-Mine sub-zone to step up participation in implementation of development programs, and keep intact the norm of complementarity.

 

Mai-Mine, 22 October 2013 – The Administrator of the Southern region, Mr. Efrem Gebrekristos, has called on the inhabitants of Mai-Mine sub-zone to step up participation in implementation of development programs, and keep intact the norm of complementarity. Mr. Efrem made the call last Sunday at a meeting in Mai-Mine, during which he expressed appreciation for the input of popular campaigns in different areas and called for sustained efforts to this end.

The regional Administrator further urged the inhabitants to continue extending a helping hand towards more impact in education, and thus doing away with harmful customary practices victimizing women.

Mr. Firewengel Teklemaimanot, Administrator of the sub-zone, indicated that the inhabitants have been demonstrating active participation in development activities, and that the renovation of a dirt road through community undertaking attests to this.

Reports indicated that the participants of the meeting put forth views pertaining to several issues, while the regional Administrator made tour of the area visiting social service facilities, community-built dirt roads and rain-fed farms, among others.
