Community elders in Badda Administrative area, Gelalo sub-zone, are making efforts with a view to raising female participation in education.

Gelalo, 25 October 2013 –Community elders in Badda Administrative area, Gelalo sub-zone, are making efforts with a view to raising female participation in education.

The elders said that the available social service facilities in the area attest to the government’s commitment as regards ensuring social justice, and disclosed that community awareness pertaining to education is on the rise following the conducting of sensitization campaigns, thus giving rise to a positive impact.

Among the inhabitants, Mr. Abdu Hussein, Mr. Nur Osman, Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim and Mr. Ali Ibra Mohammed expressed satisfaction with educational service in the locality, on the basis of which exemplary students could be nurtured. They also noted the need of exerting additional endeavors focusing on promoting female school registration for still more gratifying outcome.

Mr. Idris Mohammed, a teacher, expressed appreciation for the prevailing community awareness as regards education and other issues, and called for the putting in place of more educational facilities in this connection.

There exist 3 Elementary Schools and 1 Junior School in Badda Administrative area.
