Agordat: Residents called upon to enhance role as regards control of communicable diseases

The Administration of Agordat sub-zone has called on the residents of the city to raise awareness as regards communicable diseases and thereby enhance role in the endeavors being exerted to control them. It made the call at a meeting during which continued health seminars and sensitization initiatives were described a prerequisite to this end.

Agordat, 26 October 2013 – The Administration of Agordat sub-zone has called on the residents of the city to raise awareness as regards communicable diseases and thereby enhance role in the endeavors being exerted to control them. It made the call at a meeting during which continued health seminars and sensitization initiatives were described a prerequisite to this end.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Teklebirhan Gebrewold, Administrator of the sub-zone, pointed out that the joint promotional undertaking conducted by the Health Ministry’s regional branch, government bodies and communities has witnessed visible impact.

Mr. Misgina Berhane and Mr. Abdulkadir Hijai from the health center in Agordat said that community awareness as regards health is on the rise thanks to the accomplishments registered on the basis of outreach sensitization service, thus giving rise to visible decline in instances of various related diseases.

The participants of the meeting expressed conviction that such achievement is the outcome of promoting medical service outreach and promotional campaigns. They also asserted that they would extend a helping hand for the realization of the cherished goal.
