Community rehabilitation volunteers in Ginda sub-zone engage in commendable activities

The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Ginda sub-zone pointed out that community rehabilitation volunteers in the locality are engaged in commendable activities with a view to laying the groundwork for disabled nationals to become self-reliant.

Ginda, 28 October 2013 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Ginda sub-zone pointed out that community rehabilitation volunteers in the locality are engaged in commendable activities with a view to laying the groundwork for disabled nationals to become self-reliant.

Speaking at a meeting with community representatives, Area administrators and community rehabilitation workers, Mr. Jabera Idris, head of the branch office, pointed out that sensitization activities conducted by the volunteers to this end have made significant impact as regards bringing about the necessary behavioral change. He further noted the importance of such activities in improving the livelihood of the nationals and raising their awareness thereof.

Also speaking at the meeting, Mr. Omar Yahiya, Administrator of the sub-zone, disclosed that the role of the voluntary community rehabilitation workers is pertinent to finding ways and means through which disabled citizens could obtain assistance on the basis of mutual understanding with family members. He also called on the inhabitants in general and Area administrators in particular to enhance participation towards the realization of the cherished goal.

The participants called for the organizing of training courses for the voluntary community rehabilitation workers for  still more gratifying outcome, besides the laying of the necessary groundwork for nurturing skill knowhow among the disabled and orphans.

There exist a total of 60 community rehabilitation volunteers in Ginda sub-zone, according to reports.
