Inhabitants of Libenai and Girasha areas to exert efforts as regards raising community participation in education

The inhabitants of Libenai and Girasha Administrative areas, Haikota sub-zone, said that they would exert efforts as regards raising community participation in education. They expressed the readiness at a meeting with Mr. Hamd Yusuf, Administrator of the sub-zone, during which he called for further parental role in the academic pursuits of students.

Haikota, 28 October 2013 – The inhabitants of Libenai and Girasha Administrative areas, Haikota sub-zone, said that they would exert efforts as regards raising community participation in education. They expressed the readiness at a meeting with Mr. Hamd Yusuf, Administrator of the sub-zone, during which he called for further parental role in the academic pursuits of students.

The Administrator indicated that the government has been engaged in putting in place educational facilities in remote areas with a view to ensuring equitability of educational opportunities. He further stated that the community members should practice judicious utilization of such facilities, and that the role of Area administrators, village elders and religious leaders is vital in this regard.

Pointing out that a number of children in the locality have become beneficiaries of educational opportunities, Mr. Abdalla Mahmoud, head of the Education Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, equally emphasized the importance of parental guidance in the teaching-learning process.

The participants of the meeting disclosed that community awareness pertaining to education is on the rise, and asserted that they would enhance role in academic affairs.
