Plantations in Fawlina Administrative area in good condition

Farmers in Fawlina Administrative area, Molqi sub-zone, indicated that plantations in the locality are in good condition, and that rain-fed farming is mostly at the stage of harvest.

Molqi, 30 October 2013 – Farmers in Fawlina Administrative area, Molqi sub-zone, indicated that plantations in the locality are in good condition, and that rain-fed farming is mostly at the stage of harvest. They further pointed out that they could witness such prospect of good harvest thanks to the effort they made in connection with the timely start of laughing and the commendable amount of rainfall registered in the locality.

Among farmers, Mr. Habteab Hantal, Mr. Abrihaley Woldemichael, Mr. Mehari Mekonen and Mr. Berhane Solomon stated that preparations made for rain-fed farming and the follow-up made thereof constitute a prerequisite for the achievement. They also called on the Ministry of Agriculture to collaborate with them until the finalization of the process on the basis of dispatching harvesting machines.

Mr. Abedom Gezae, Administrator of Fawlina area, disclosed that the community has also been engaging in popular soil and water conservation undertakings, the impact of which has been significant in increasing the volume of harvest.

Meanwhile, the Administration of Molqi sub-zone said that plantations in Afentera and Adi-Mihret Administrative areas, as well as some villages in the areas of Adi-Kuakuat, Ait’abir and Adi-Gemia are in a good state.
