The inhabitants of Kermed village, Hagaz sub-zone, said that the health station in the locality is rendering commendable service as regards mother and child care, in addition to its sustained community sensitization endeavors.

Hagaz, 05 November 2013 – The inhabitants of Kermed village, Hagaz sub-zone, said that the health station in the locality is rendering commendable service as regards mother and child care, in addition to its sustained community sensitization endeavors. They further expressed satisfaction with the availability of the medical facility, and pointed out that such institutions have made significant impact in promoting community health in remote areas.

Among the inhabitants, Mr. Fisehaye Musie, Ms. Kedija Idris and Mr. Adem Ali Kerar stated that community awareness pertaining to health issues is on  the rise, and that they would sustain popular environmental hygiene initiative for a better outcome regarding prevention of communicable diseases.

Mr. Gebrehiwet Tsegai, head of the health station, disclosed that the medical staff has been working with a major focus on promoting environmental hygiene, control of diseases, malaria prevention, as well as mother and child care, among others. Increased number of mothers attending maternity service attests to the growing awareness thereof, he added.
